QE2, On the Passing of Her Majesty

A warm, positive film recipe using the Classic Chrome film simulation

QE2 Film Recipe

QE2

On 8th September, I was walking in the New Forest when news started to come in, that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was unwell and her family were gathering. Later in the day, her passing was announced. Having served my country for so long, her death has affected millions of people, and it has been a truly sad day.

The audience of this site is international and so rather than black banners or other symbols, I’m naming this new film recipe QE2 as a simple tribute. Like Her Majesty was, this recipe is full of warmth and positivity, and brings colour and brightness to a scene.

I greatly appreciate your thoughts for the Queen as much as I appreciate your recipes. I am Italian, my name is Sandro. I’m sorry for my english…

I stopped following general news and current events since Jan 2021 but saw this yesterday (impossible to avoid, it’s absolutely everywhere, and she’s the world most famous woman after all). I gasped when I saw her last photo taken only 3 days earlier. HM seemed to have lost a lot of weight. Have been fighting back the tears ever since.

Her whole life in front of cameras, she was a photography enthusiast herself: https://i.imgur.com/VoCk019.jpg

(I felt the same about Diana. The same shock and grief.)

It’s an unusual thing, not a surprise but a shock nonetheless. She has been a constant in our lives, and somehow separate from the rest of the population.

It’s been nice to see here photography images, which have been shared quite a bit in the groups I read. I’m glad that it was one of her hobbies. Something we shared.
