Silvertone 99 User Gallery

This round of the Film Recipes Challenge was our first journey into mono imagery with the Silvertone 99 film recipe. There was an excellent response to the challenge as always, with new photographers joining in alongside our regular contributors.

One the most interesting things to see, was how the mono recipe encouraged people to try new styles, such as portraits or macro images.

I’ve mentioned before that, the main reason that I work on this site, is to inspire photographers like you through the film recipes that I create. I hope that you’ll see these galleries and join in with the next challenge. The details are in the box below.

To see more photos taken with film recipes, and to share your photos with others, why not join our Film Recipes Facebook Group 📷

Joining a recipe challenge is really easy to do. Fujifilm photographers can share photos with the current challenge recipe, either on the Film Recipes Facebook Group, or in the comments section of the challenge recipe page. At the end of the challenge, I create a gallery round up, just like this one.

Here are a selection of the wonderful submissions in November 2022 for the Silvertone 99 challenge.

Silvertone 99 Macros by TheCameraEatsFirst

Here’s a wonderfully creative submission from our regular contributor, TheCameraEatsFirst. These macro images really bring out the power of a mono recipe to highlight details that can sometimes be lost in a colour image.

Silvertone 99 by Andy Scott

Andy has submitted a selection of image from Namibia in Africa. I was very impressed by the portrait shot in particular.

Silvertone 99 by Anneke Zuyderduin

You may guess from her name, by Anneke lives in the Netherlands and has shared a selection that includes architectural forms, that are another subject that I think really works well in mono.

Silvertone 99 in the Mist, by Thocles

Thocles submits galleries for many of our challanges from his walks around Warsaw, Poland. In this series, he went exporing on a foggy evening, where the pools of light in the mist created a unique ambience.

Silvertone 99 by John Matthews

John is a new contributor to our site, and is also the first to submit challenge images taken on an X-T5. He took his new camera for a tour of his rustic farm on Thanksgiving Day.

Silvertone 99 by Ana Flavia Feliciano

Ana lives in the Sydney area, and has once again been out and about to capture a varied selection of scenes. I was particulary impressed with the flaming cocktails photos.

Siltertone 99 by Tobias Gruber

Tobias made several submissions in the Silvertone challenge, capturing rural and urban images. My personal favourite was the ground level close up in the wet grass.

Silvertone 99 in the Mist by TheCameraEatsFirst

Misty weather seemed to be popping up all over Europe in late November, and this second set by TheCameraEatsFirst uses this mono recipe to capture the moody tone of the fog really well.

Silvertone 99 by Desmond Painter

Desmond is another regular contributor to our Film Recipes Facebook Group, and for this challenge, he has shared some wonderful photos from a trip to the beach with his daughter.

Silvertone 99 by David Simpson

David is another regular in our group, and shares his results with a variety of film recipes. For the challenge, we have a selection of six autumnal shots.

Silvertone 99 Portraits by David Whittley

Here’s a fabulous submission from David Whittley, with a series of charming candid portraits.

Silvertone 99 at Night by Thocles

A second selection for this challenge, Thocles continued his photo walk into the night giving us these high contrast night shots from Warsaw once again.

Silvertone 99 by Sam Robbins

Sam has sent us a small but charming set of images including cuteness, mood and natural beauty.

Silvertone 99 by Sabrina Magnusson

Sabrina recently shared her Autumn Vibe film recipe with us, and often joins our challenges. This time, we have a varied abstract set, working with the mood of this mono recipe. I love the leafy reflections.

Silvertone 99 by Wully Donald

Wully joins us from Scotland, and shoots with an X-T3. He adapts the challenge film recipes to suit his camera, and just as he did with the recent Copper challenge, has shared a beautiful set of photos. The locations are Slains Castle, and Port Errol Harbour in Cruden Bay on the North East of Scotland.

I hope you enjoyed viewing the submissions for the Silvertone 99 film recipe challenge. Once again we toured the world, and can all be inspired by the variety and talent demostrated by our contributors.

If you would like to see your photos here in a gallery, then it’s simple. Join us in the Film Recipes Facebook Group where the latest challenge will be running. In the meantime, you can take a tour of the other user photo galleries from previous rounds of the challenge.
