Sunrise and Sunset Film Recipes
The hours around sunrise and sunset offer some of the best light for taking photographs. Apart from the opportunity to shoot images of the sun close to the horizon, the angle of light, diffused through the atmosphere creates a naturally warm, soft tone to images.
In a number of film recipes, I have embraced this soft warm light with settings and film simulation choices that compliment the golden hour. Using these will help to bring out the golden mood of the softer light.
It’s quite a big list, so perhaps the first to try are Dawnstar, Toasty Chrome and Rosa Negative.
