Unusual and unconventional film recipes that push the limits
Every now and again it’s worth throwing the rulebook out and seeing what happens when you push the Fujifilm settings to places they weren’t necessarily designed to go. These recipes are the results of those experiments — some bold colour treatments, some strange combinations, some genuinely odd-looking results that nonetheless work.
None of these are daily drivers. But if you want something that looks unlike anyone else’s photos, or you’re curious what the camera can actually do at the extremes, this is the place to look.
These recipes are drawn from both the site and the Film Recipes App, ordered first by how closely each recipe was designed to capture the experimental character — from direct interpretations through to inspired-by looks — and then by popularity within each group. App-only recipes are included and marked 🔒.
