Analogico, for a Rich Golden Look

Astia film recipe with a warm golden tone for sunny days

Analogico Film Recipe

Analogico

One of the oldest film simulations is Astia, which I remember having on my first Fujifilm X camera, the X10. People say that it’s not quite what it used to be, but I still find it a really interesting film simulation to work with. It has a unique tone and a film like look, and is one of the most analogue looking of the available simulations.

This film recipe takes the analogue qualities of Astia and dials them up, giving a stylised interpretation that is warm and rich, and brings out any golden or yellow tones in your scene. And because some of us spell analogue as analog, I took a third path with the naming, and using Esperanto, called it Analogico, to offend everyone equally!

The stunning last photo isn’t it upcoming recipe “Restore from Backup”? As it’s mentioned in change log.

Good oberservation skills! When I go out photographing, I take 4 or 5 photos of most things, with different recipes. So for this scene of Avington Park, I was shooting with Kodak Portra Daily, Restore from Backup, Analogico and Yakisugi, so I have four images of that view with the different recipes 🙂 You’ll see the view again on the Restore from Backup recipe when it’s published soon!

These photos are great, but how do I get “.5” on the X100V? Thanks.

Thanks John. Ah, yes. That’s one of the new options on the latest cameras. You can go with one of the whole numbers on either side and stick with which you prefer. A half doesn’t make a huge difference
